We are an urgent care centre and do not have registered patients. This means that, unlike your GP, we do not receive capitation funding from the government and do not currently receive any other funding to support our services. The fee that you pay goes directly to keeping our services running and doors open. We keep this cost as low as we can.

Unlike your GP, Dunedin Urgent Doctors currently does not receive funding to see under-14s during the day (Mon-Fri 8am-3pm) so we need to charge a fee to continue running our service. There is no charge for under-14s after hours as this is fully funded.

ACC does not pay the entire cost of your treatment. They subsidise the cost of your appointment and any further treatment you require, however there is still a surcharge that you need to pay for the appointment.

Payment is expected before your consultation. We accept cash, EFTPOS and credit/debit cards.
We are now open 24 hours a day.  Between 10pm and 8am the clinic is staffed by registered nurses, paramedics, and extended care paramedics with telemedicine support
